This channel started as a bird channel when we began to vide
This channel started as a bird channel when we began to video record our meetings with the magpies.
This area is an old magpie territory, but over time most of the (magpie) usable trees in the area have been cut down.
So we decided to make a 'steel tree' constructed from an original magpie nest's form and measures, and located it inside our garden.
This was in 2016.
Also the same year we made the first simple box on the lower roof in the garden.
This was caused by some gull 'problems' the year before.
The mew gulls had suddenly decided they would nest inside our garden.
Because of their protective instincts, we were not allowed entrance to the part where they nested (during the season).
This was not ideal, because we normally need entrance to that area.
They liked the solution on the roof and have since nested there.
In 2020 we installed cams in and around the nests.
We post bird videos from these cams as often as we can, and as often there is something interesting happening.
