Are yoga photos inspiring or intimidating?
I used to look at photos of people doing these insane yoga postures and think, ‘I wish I could do that’ and because I could barely touch my toes I would also say, ‘I’ll never be able to do that.’
But then I got there. I could touch my toes, I could get the leg behind the head and that voice came back and said, ‘You’re not good enough to teach’
And the thing is, I still believe it. I’m still intimidated.

There is no such thing as luck. And the leg behind the head thing didn’t just happen. I’m 90% sure that anyone who has come that far in their Ashtanga Yoga journey has their stories of pain and suffering.
Success (however you define it) didn’t just fall into their lap. They didn’t just sit around waiting for the asana to be given to them.
These students who post epic photos of themselves in these stupid ass contorted postures have taken risks, they had a vision of themselves and embraced the unfamiliar.
That’s what sets apart success, a F^(K YOU mindset to the limiting belief that ‘I’ll never be able to do that.’

It’s not the leg behind the head that should inspire you, it’s the daily FU to that voice that says I can’t.
