This is terrifically useful. But my 'secret sauce' point of view based on many years of thought is that the human body and human movement is tremendously FLUID . The slight risk of this approach could be a tendency to 'robotise' your figures, ie make them mechanical looking and lacking flow. As a way of conceptualising 3D forms this approach is very useful. But maybe more as a mental concept than something drawn on paper
