I think increasing bone density, tendon and joint strength is the best way to improve muscle output because it tells your brain the activation is safe

Then there that skinny dude with enormous strength using 60% of his muscle fibers

For those who are confused/didnt already know, the reason why we have limitations on how much muscle fiber activation is because if we were about to use 100% of our strength anytime we want, we'd end up with a lot of broken bones/torn tissue. Our brain puts limits on what we can do because it knows we can hurt ourselves, it's like biting through your own finger, you know that your bite is strong enough but your brain won't allow you to harm yourself.

This feels like a throwback to the idea of people only using 10% of their brain. I know it's different, but it's so similar, too

This is zeroing in on what truly separates levels of fitness. The simplicity is astonishing!! 💯

this makes a lot of sense why people wit high verticals can usually squat 1.5-2x their body weight

Using 100% of your brain: 🤓 Using 100% of your muscle fibers:

This is interesting, anecdotally, I worked out all through highschool just trying to dunk. Nothing but squats , plyos, etc. and I could/can feel my entire legs engage when jumping/ landing but when learning pull-ups years later my back really struggled to engage thoroughly. And then I saw a mike mentzer? Video about lowering reps and focusing on explosive clean reps. And my activation skyrocketed week by week. Long story short training explosive movements religiously will get you to elite activation but anything that’s neglected won’t.

Pretty sure you gotta open the 8th inner gate in order to activate 100% 😂

Bone density is the #1 cause for muscle fiber mass growth. Simply bigger bones means stronger muscles. Flexibility in the tendons also assists in explosive and quick movements.

It doesn’t matter what you do so long as you commit to it what made the masters of ryozanpaku masters is the fact that they trained everyday

For those wondering; the reason why your body limits the force you can create is simple, it’s to avoid tearing your tendon, if you could use a 100% of your strengh you could easily lift the rear of a car for example, but you would also inevitably tear almost all the muscles of your frame. By limiting how much force you can exert, your body prevents you from putting your muscles under a tension it cannot withstand, if you can’t lift the weight then your tendons are not in tension, but if the weight Is lifted then all the tension is now in your tendons. There is only one situation in which your body will let you use a 100% of your strength and it’s in life or death situation because there will be so much adrenaline going through your body

It feels really nice to conciously recruit muscles. I started weightlifting last year at 24 and I've felt things I never did in the years prior, even after swimming for a while.
