My mom worked in an emergency room of a hospital and one of the doctors would flirt with her all the time. She was married and had all her children by that point so she wasn’t interested, but she told me one day they had breaks at the same time. Part of the hospital was being refinished and he took her there because he said there was something cool. Much to her surprise there was a piano. He sat down at the piano and played her a song. She said she still wasn’t interested but it felt like something from a romance novel. 😂

My mom worked in a hospital for 20 odd years and she told me about several marriages that were ruined due to this. Some were her good friends. She also said that there was a dedicated closet where you went to ruin saId marriages.

I worked at a hospital in the emergency department. My trainer told me that a couple years before I started working there everybody was hooking up with everybody. She said they even had a small STD problem that was going around.

My grandmother went to nursing school in the late 1930’s. Doctors would hit on her all the time, it just have been in nursing school and a touch after graduation, but she had a rule to never date a doctor. She’d rebuff them by saying “I don’t date doctors, but if you have a single brother, I’d love to go out with him!”. She apparently meant it too! She was so young when she got married to my grandpa (no relation to the medical field), and that put a stop to the solicitations. She never told me this, but know this because my mom shared it with me. I just always thought that’s the perfect way to stop them dead in their tracks!

One of the surgeons I used to work for had a reputation throughout the entire hospital. He was married to a nurse that used to work for him. He cheated on her with a nurse he currently worked with... Left his wife and married the 2nd nurse... Eventually, he cheated on her with another nurse and did the same thing. He was known for using the on call room in our office for his flings with his nurses.

My cousin’s unit was suspicious of a nurse and a doctor. They kept weirdly hanging out in stairwells and jumping apart when someone would open the door. Then, they both took an extended vacation at the same time. She came back married because they’d accidentally gotten pregnant with twins while hooking up! They finally had to disclose the relationship. The doctor isn’t well liked by the other nurses in the unit, so probably why they hadn’t said anything.
