I've heard that this occurs in Asian people. I believe I've had it lifelong. Sometimes I can eat dairy products and I'm fine. Other times I eat dairy products and I wish I hadn't. Not quite sure why the two different scenarios. I tried taking Lactaid. Sometimes it helps and sometimes not.
I always eat dairy products at home when I know I'll be home the entire day. On many occasions, I've had to run to the restroom, but couldn't get to one as I was in transit. It's a horrible predicament in which to be.

I'm 29 and my body has decided I can't have a slice of cheese without me having explosive diarrhea. I feel like crying constantly, I LOVE diary, milk, ice crem, ESPECIALLY cheese. Every single year for my birthday my mom's made me a homemade cheesecake. Now I'll never be able to have it anymore.

I used to be lactose intolerant but I figure out how to overcome it. It is called adaptation. I used to drink lactose free milk but it is more expensive and tend to spoil before expire date. So I ask myself is it possible for me to train my gut to adapt to lactose. The answer is : YES.
1. Mix 20% regular milk with 80% soy milk or almond milk. Drink it like that for an extend period of time ie 6 months or 1 year
2. Increase percentage of regular milk slowly. If I get diaherra then I know my guts are complaining and I need to reduce percentage of regular milk
It took me about 2 years at which point I no longer need to dilute my regular milk with something else. Not sure if it works for other people. That‘s right I trained my guts to adapt to lactose. It has been more than 5 years since I go from lactose intolerant to be able to digest lactose. Save a lot of money :)

Age 18 I drank a bowl of milk and cereal for what would be my final time before the following in autumn 2015. I began experiencing difficulties processing dairy products, mainly milk and liquid like melted cheese. Soon after, my realization came I developed lactose intolerance from bloating another symptom is constipation or lack of #2. And feeling nausea but never throwing up.

I had IgG testing in my mid-50's that showed a casein intolerance, not lactose. I successfully switched to goat milk and milk products, then eventually couldn't tolerate those either. Then I switched to occasional sheep's milk yogurt and cheeses, but started getting symptomatic with those too. I'm now dairy (and symptom) free!

Not 100% sure if I'm lactose intolerant or not. But having IBS symptoms which get 10x worse if I have too much dairy, things are easier when I remove it from my diet all the same.
I can have small amounts, like milk in tea or a few pieces of cheese. But sometimes I just have to suffer if I want to eat certain foods lol.

Thank you for the info doc. I have been watching your videos since 2020 mostly about COVID. I have never had issues with Lactose, and at 56 it kicked in. My GI said she didn’t think that is what it was, but I have recently spoken to several people who are about my age or older who all had similar roads into intolerance. Keep up the good work, your vids are informative, not too overwhelming with info, and easy to understand for the lay person. happy New Year to you and your family!

Not sure if anyone has faced this but I suddenly became lactose intolerant when I stopped eating every kind of artificial sugar or sweetner or dairy products as I wanted to rely only on natural fruits etc and 3 months later on a party, I had to eat some ice cream and for the first time ever in 3 months I ate something containing artificial sugar and milk and boom been 2 days and I have the severe possible symptoms, I repeat the most severe of all these symptoms, to the point where I'm throwing up.
