It's basically the same time.. the first one, the clutch was engaged first simply because the left foot was already resting on top of the clutch pedal, while right foot has to travel from gas pedal to brake pedal. On the second attempt, the left foot wasn't resting on the clutch pedal. Thus, it needs time to transfer to the clutch pedal. And modern electric throttle controlled cars nowadays have a delay before engine braking. If you notice, the moment you lift off your foot from the gas pedal, the rpm doesn't go down right away compared to mechanical cable driven throttles. There's a delayed response for electric throttle compared to the instantaneous response for cable throtte. Thus, the idea of engine braking in this very short split second is diminished because of that throttle lag. Many car enthusiasts who do track days definitely find this throttle lag really annoying.. 😅
Of course more expensive sports cars FBW reacts much faster and less throttle lag than economy cars. But it is still not instant response as mechanically cable driven throttle

I did emergency stops in residential areas on my lessons so I knew what suddenly stopping at the speed felt like. I wish I’d had a chance to do it at slightly higher speeds because I had to do a near emergency stop on a dual carriageway going at 60 because a van 4 cars in front of us suddenly slowed down (smoke was coming from underneath, turned out it was on fire) and everyone behind came to a near screeching halt. Amazingly, no one crashed and the van driver was ok.

If you're driving a manual downshifting+ revmatch is the way to go. It'll save you about 1 second in braking distance or about 5 meters and that is extremely important in an emergency braking situation. If you don't know how to downshift while revmatching it's okay to keep the car in gear so you don't have the front end loose and the wheels spinning freely until the revs drop to iddle speed, only then you should press the clutch pedal.
