It would be interesting to know more about the context. Was the dino trying to eat the mammal's young, or the mammal trying to steal the dino's eggs ? One theory is sneaky mammal predation of dinosaur nests contributed to their extinction.

The mammal probably thought the dinosaur could feed it's family for three to five days

probably the mammal was just defending and not going after a quick death

Mammals (even us) still have this chemical in our brain that says "well.. if im going down, im going down fighting".... Mammals thinking like that millions of years ago and still today.πŸ˜…

I wish you would have given the fossil photo more face time. 10 seconds wasn't enough. 🀨

"fight or flight"

Could be any number of causes. Maybe the dino was killed or wounded before the mammal even arrived. Maybe they were both killed by a flood and swept into that position. Maybe a large dino went bonkers and killed both. Nobody will ever know the full story.

Even tho a small mammal will attack a much larger animal, i don't think it would be able to kill that animal. Obvious there is more of a story to that fossel.

Perhaps it was thinking it didn’t wish to be dinosaur lunch.

How big was the dinosaur they were not all huge. Weren't many mammals and dinosaurs the size of small mice before KPG line 65 million years ago?
