Thank you so much for breaking this down. I have always wondered why when I eat right before bed. I wake up ravenous in the morning and typically earlier than I wouldā€™ve wanted to wake up, needing to eat.

I've found a way around this problem. I don't eat before bed anymore. I eat during bed now. Problem solved.

Most normal working people donā€™t have that much room in their schedule to make such changes. When I get back from work, I only have 3 hours left in the day before bed. Perhaps this is one small cog in the machine of so many people being fat

I don't know... I take magnesium in the evening and also eat 1,500 at dinner and bed within 2hrs. I sleep pretty well and have fuel for morning cardio and weight training. Works for me.

So in our low carb lifestyle make room for walnuts, pumkin seeds, hazelnuts and pistachios.....reasonable amounts of melatonin to be found. Thank Rhonda m'dear. šŸ’

Or front load your carbs and calories earlier in the day. Then, for dinner, eat smaller portions without carbs. That way, you dont go to sleep hungry while also bypassing the issues she mentioned about spiking your blood glucose levels during sleep.

FYI as a type 1 diabetic, the absolute minuscule level she's referring to regarding your blood sugar levels rising, will impact your health in a zero way. We type 1's function superbly with average levels waaaay higher than the increased average she's talking about. I mean, its true but irrelevant.
