I agree 100%. That’s why I’m not dating right now. I’m not going to invest into a relationship just because I feel lonely. If you’re lonely call a friend. Take the time you think is necessary to be comfortable with yourself and then eventually go out there and look for a partner when the time is right, and/or if and when you feel ready.

I think this makes sense for romantic relationships, however I think it is healthy to have a want, or need even, to show and give love to others. not romantically, but the care for others is something that we are called to do, engrained in our very DNA. if you are telling me that I will be TRULY alone, I don't know if I can be okay with that. if you just mean I won't have a romantic partner, I am happy enough with myself not to need that. (though my wife would be pissed... ;-) )

I was thinking about this just today! And I'd be totally happy out and fulfilled if I was single for the rest of my life. The way I see it, I create 90 percent of my happiness with the stuff I do and a relationship is 10 percent. I'd be totally happy with my 90 percent.
