HD1 - A New Farthest Galaxy? #Shorts

Scientists have discovered a new candidate for the most distant galaxy ever identified. While not conclusively proven, HD1 is thought to be an ancient primordial dwarf galaxy, lying more than 30 billion light years from Earth today. It is postulated to be the farthest [Z=13.27], and therefore oldest [13.45bn years], galaxy that we've ever identified.

You are still the most enthralling channel on YouTube. You donā€™t use any hook audio or partially honest titles to beg for views or viewers. I have no reservations playing your channel in the doctors office waiting room, or classroom at university. It easily wins most eloquent and elegant media of all YouTube.

I'm absolutely loving these shorts. I love the longer videos but I always need like 5-6 sittings to finish one just because of my terrible attention span. So I'm enjoying shorts a lot.

I'd love to see a video that kind of puts this all to scale in some sense. Like when you say it was redshifted by 13. What's the scale we're talking about? Is 13.27 more than we ever thought possible or is that just fairly high. But not just red shift, ages, types of celestial bodies, etc. I just always wanted to see what are some of the averages. I just want to know the universes stats I guess lol

As a space nerd, my jaw dropped when I heard it was formed after only 330 million years after the big bang

Around 150 years ago, we interpret galaxies as stars. Now we know that they're a different galaxy. Maybe this distant galaxies, is a different universe after all.

Very interesting! For some constructive criticism, stating a single redshift value (or any value on a scale people don't know) is gonna be utterly meaningless to a lot of people, maybe giving the redshift value of our nearest neighbour and the previous record-holder would put things more into perspective?

If we can see the oldest galaxy ever. How are there galaxies outside of our observable universe?

I disagree with other comments. This video is perfectly fine as vertical.

The problem is, we are seeing them as they were billions of years ago. If we could enlarge the image so we could see stars or even planets we'd be seeing what is no longer there.
