You missed mentioning the after party. The official part ends quite soon for western standards, around 5pm. Then, the younger people go to the after party, typically organised by good friends. At my own wedding, we even finished up with some karaoke :D

A friend used to teach English in Japan and back then Elvis weddings were the big thing! The bride and groom dress like Elvis and Priscilla! Elvis songs played through the ceremony and reception and most attended with 50's style clothing! They were very serious and my friend was told never laugh no matter what you see. They kept on pinching each other!
