Mike knows the best way to get us to relate to something is to explain it via romantic rejection. Truly a master of his craft.

"Really deep into lipidology research" is a rather generous assessment

Forget about Stacy Mike. You should ask her mom, heard sheā€™s got it going on.

Thereā€™s a massive difference in replacing ā€œa fractionā€ of saturated fats with seed oils vs seed oils being a majority fat you consumeā€¦ The typical American diet is currently overwhelmingly seed oil basedā€¦

For 10,000+ years of human history, every society/civilization ate a diet of foods with balanced omega 6/3 ratios in the range of 1:1 to 4:1. This is essential for human health because omega 6 is pro inflammatory and omega 3 is anti inflammatory. In the modern American diet, we consume seed oils at a rate far higher than ever before and our omega 6/3 ratio is now 20:1. At the same time that we began eating a hyper inflammatory diet, the rates of chronic inflammatory diseases have skyrocketed. Itā€™s not a coincidence that as soon as we switched our diets to pro inflammatory seed oils that we began suffering from chronic inflammatory conditions. I have Crohnā€™s disease and my #1 food sensitivity that causes blood in my stool is soybean oil. When I eat sardines, my symptoms subside.

Seed oils have to be processed 30x over, and bleached so you donā€™t get the horrible smell. Plus, seed oils originated as machine lubricant. Iā€™ll stick with butter.

Name the studies where you say seed oils improve health so we can look for ourselves

I would be curious to hear him go into more detail on the lipidology. Always been interested in fully understanding it and Dr. Mike does a good job of dumbing things down into simpler terms

The problem here is he is referring to a study that isnā€™t actually real world use of seed oils. Replacement of seed oil is not the same as how we interact with it daily. The problem is the reheating of these seed oils not one time use like how this study was conducted.

Agreed 100% with Mike, seed oils are totally fine. I make sure to take three tablespoons of cottonseed oil every morning alongside my fistful of pills and jug of liquor

"healthier" implies lower cholesterol which is not a health marker. Never was and never will be. I cooked with canola for 20years and it was straight killing me. Switching fats fixed more things than i can count.

Seed oils in low amounts as heā€™s suggesting arenā€™t bad, because your body needs some degree of omega 6, but itā€™s like saying sugar isnā€™t bad because your body needs it for energy, seeds oils should be 10percent or less of the ones total fat intake
