Im 35 yrs old and my recent blood work showed my test levels to be pretty low. I am however 220lbs at about 18%-20% bodyfat. Ive been lifting consistently for 10 years. I have zero issue putting on and retaining muscle mass. I can squat and deadlift over 500lbs, bench over 315lbs and overhead press 225lbs. Because of this i decided to not pursuit TRT atleast for the time being. Point is, test levels arent a guaranteed measure you need TRT and I feel alot of ppl just use that as an excuse to hop on it. As Dr Mike has said, low test AND 2-3 other low T symptoms should be determined before TRT is prescribed

I had subclinical natural levels of free T at 28. Got prescribed TRT 150mg/week for secondary hypogonadism. Almost 2 years later, live has been the most incredible it’s ever been. Truly lifechanging stuff. So I needed it and I’m grateful I got it the medical way. But I always tell everyone: if you have natural levels where they need to be (upper or lower limit), you don’t need TRT.

I’m 52 been on HRT for about 8 years. I haven’t had any negative side effects from it. I retain lean muscle, my workout recovery is cut in half. I also work in the trades on my tools. I put in 10k-26k steps a day 5 days a week. It’s been such a benefit to me and my entire life as well as my outlook on life as well. It seems like the negative aspects about HRT are what makes me everyone wants to talk about.

For most people online, TRT is just an excuse to jump on the sauce.
