Bro walked into a doctor’s office expecting them to hit him with a healing spell.

Folks should shop for the doctors with the intensity and passion they shop for Nike's, handbags, cars...

A small detail I appreciate is how so many tough guy influencers use the same low-end, sloppy acoustic guitar plucking hip hop beats to appear badass, while my man Dr Mike is content to use smooth elevator jazz.

I had high blood pressure. And it made working out feel awful. I took blood pressure meds for 2 years. Found this channel. Started working out again and I went from 270 pounds to 180 pounds. And now I'm off the blood pressure medicine.

It's crazy that Dana says that, then injects test and HGH lol. Also, I got my cholesterol down 10% with diet and exercise. Statins took it down 40%

His point is so good about the blood pressure medication, I was recently diagnosed with diabetes and since then everyone is so disappointed that I’m taking the medication instead of “working out of it” and I have to tell them that I am “working out of it” (I already need a new belt) but I need the medication right now.

Well said. Standard medicine frequently gets ripped for not being preventative enough and relying on pills. But as you wisely said most people resist preventative measures and that isn’t a medicine problem it’s a cultural education problem

My wife works in a pharmacy. They can tell what meds you are on from your shopping cart. And yes they find it depressing

People who make these kind of statements don-t know jacksht about medicine in the first place. Some time ago I met a guy and mentioned him I have hypothyroidism and take medication for it. And dude was like "did you knew that nobody ever cured their hypothyroidism with pills." And I was like yeah no shit dude, it's cause it's a chronic disorder, you don't cure it, you control it

As a PA you know why so many ppl get put so on pills is because a very low percentage actually commit to lifestyle factors as treatment. Also we get are limited to 15 minute appointments to educate patients. Whole system is a mess.

I have three family members that are nurses/doctors, I can tell you they hand out medication because it’s what people want. Nobody wants to walk into the doctors office and be told “Well, maybe you could sleep better if you weren’t addicted to caffeine.” Or “Your hip pain would be severely reduced if you lost 40 pounds and did stretches every morning.” people want the doctor to fix their problem the same way mechanics fix cars.

"Every doctor i went to wanted to give me a brace for my broken arm, they're all just trying to sell you something"

Doctors are good at reading people. Within about 5 seconds they can tell if you are capable of the self-determination to make lifestyle improvements. If they are giving you pills on your first appointment - you need to look at the way that you present yourself and how that comes across to other people.

General lifestyle changes alone only work with mild high blood pressure, for more severe high blood pressure, medication is REQUIRED in addition to lifestyle changes, lifestyle usually with most diseases comes more into play in prevention, once you're ill, you often benefit from a lifestyle improvement but in most cases pills are also needed (depending on the disease and its severity)

The fact of the matter is most doctors won't put you on medicines unless you need them, and they do talk to patients about diet and exercise.

not the biggest fitness guy myself, but hearing how simple and elegant you explain these seemingly conplex topics, really motivates me to take care of my body more, im not terrible on my body but im not very good to it either, these are the lind of videos that get me in the right mindset to actually wanna improve my health and not the fucking sigma masculinity bullshit thats been pushed over the last few years or so. its better to be informed and articulate rather than loud and overbearing, much more digestable and easy to follow. Fantastic work doctor i wish you a good life❤

It's so refreshing to see someone in the fitness community who has the intelligence and awareness to see the situation for the complex system it yet so concisely explain it. Just perfection.

Gonna have to agree with Dr Mike here. If you need to go to a doctor for these issues, its incredibly likely you have already shown you dont have the discipline to not need pills, or you ended up with bad rng health wise and will need them.
