Time for a new Dexcom G7 CGM.

Dexcom G7 is NOT FDA-approved for the stomach but it’s one of the placements I prefer. It sticks (almost too) well and it's not in the way.

I got a bit impatient with the glue remover, guess recording the process can do that. If I'd let it sit for another 5 minutes the sensor would have slid right off.

I did make a full-length video about (what I think) are the best Dexcom G7 placements. Check it out on my channel

Thanks for the tip about putting it on your leg, at the front of the thigh. I much prefer it to the back of my arm. 👍

Instead of using an alcohol wipe on the old one use baby oil with a Q-tip around the sticky area. Wait a minute and it comes off with less tugging and residual glue.

I didn’t think the G7 could be worn on the stomach? The info says no! I am 66 and just diagnosed in February with Type 1. So much to learn

I miss having the 1min update interval of Freestyle Libre. I’m hoping Dexcom can have that someday.

Do you ever have the filament not insert into the body? And then the sensor says: System failure … remove sensor?

I have such a hard time removing the older sensor and than the adhesive is a pain to completely remove, yet I want the sensor to stick..it is what it is…

No offense - I enjoy your videos, but you make me feel so bad about myself.😢 I was young and fit when diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in my 20's (I am now 62). Since starting on insulin, and even more so since starting on insulin pump, I have gained probably 80 lbs. No matter what I do I keep gaining. So you do NOT use a pump?? Multiple injections per day again would suck, but do you think weight loss would be easier off of the pump? My Endo tried me on Trulicity but everytime I ate, I threw up. Sure I lost 10 lbs but gained it back when I stopped, along with severe GERD. I like the control of the Tandem pump; A1C is good, and can decrease insulin setting for exercise, etc. My only fear is once you inject insulin, you can't take it back. I know I don't get enough exercise, especially since retiring as I care for ill husband and help with elderly mother, but I try. Have decreased portion sizes also. I don't know what else to do anymore. 🤷‍

You look very muscled in the tummy area….. does it still work if there isn’t much fat there? I am having trouble with using it on my arm (too much muscle there
