I still remember the infamous John Green call out post where it listed such flaws as âwas kinda awkward when a fan met himâ and âisnât it weird that so many of his fans are teenage girls? Hmmmâ and I swear I saw the next decade of internet culture flash before my eyes. In that moment I knew we could not be saved.

i vividly remember someone sending an anonymous ask to the yfip blog about some popular tumblr artist asking if they had done anything and the response was "they've been on the internet a long time, we could probably find something" and that was the moment i knew it wasnt about holding people accountable and asking for them to be better, its about ferreting out every tiny reason to not like someone and feel justified/superior

I remember circa 2013 their post for Taylor Swift was suuuper short (how times have changed). It had like 5 bullet points, two of which were her dressing as a geisha (in Japan, in a Japanese establishment targeted to tourists that dressed them and did accurate makeup/hair/etc). Another one was a picture of her when she was like 8, because she had cornrows in her hair. Peak 2013 tumblr lol

This was a wide spread problem on Tumblr in general.
Callout posts against other users would be 90% petty bullshit 'they didn't like my posts, they unfollowed me' like that was their central thesis statement... and then add a random sentence at the end 'oh yeh they abuse animals too i guess', like the serious part didn't even matter to em.
Basically, teenagers are awful at analyzing or approaching morality since they don't got that frontal lobe developed yet.

I made a youtube short, so now no one can ever say I can't be concise. I CHOOSE to never shut up, thank you very much
