Parents are idiots. I know this because i am one. Teachers are trained for multiple years before they are let loose on children. The denial of expertise that's currently en vogue is taking ys to truly terrifying places.

You can learn everything you need for a job online, and you can hire a personal teacher(home schooling) for your kids⌠although costly, itâs actually still better than schooling. EDUCATION is whatâs important, not schools. And no, most teacher do not need extensive teaching education, they only follow a curriculum, and I know this because I was a teacher.

The reasoning for public schooling is that it is the most cost-effective way to educate a child. Private & homeschooling are costly approaches to the problem spaceâsecondly, public education has reasonable, consistent results.
The issue with present-day education is not public schooling but the reduction in funding since Reagan and the mismanagement under Bush and Trump. We know what to do and how to do it, but many people need help understanding the problem space and the funds required to make it happen.

I'm going to bet a lot of those 'Unschooling' parents also think the world is flat or believe that measles isn't bad. I'm sure there is a small percentage of those adults that would actually teach their kids while they are home, but most wouldn't.
