There is an old Scifi-Channel movie called "Sea Beast" that had my friends and I literally yelling at the TV because NONE of the creature's adaptations are useful underwater, but are legitimate superpowers on land. If you need a movie to tear apart. Also a teenage girl randomly becomes a melee combat monster for no reason.
So yeah, Sea Beast. I highly recommend it if you need material.
