Gotta be careful with those low cost airlines(since you mentioned easyjet):
If you're someone who can't pack lightly like myself, flying with them could end up being more expensive than expected.

As an employee of Delta, I want to thank you for us being your favorite airline. Now as a Delta employee, yes I fly for free with them. But sometimes I can't always fly with Delta. Maybe it's because they don't fly from one city in Europe to another. Or I can get a seat where on Delta they are sold out to that destination. Luckily we have agreements with many other airlines and we pay a small fee to fly on them.

I used to fly to Europe often, sometimes twice a year because of some good deals. After a while though i learned which airlines/routes I liked better.

Absolutely true. And your frequent flyer status doesn't mean as much as it used to. I tend to fly Delta a lot as well and have quite a few miles with them which I plan to use up ASAP. After that, my loyalty is to myself.

This is so true! I think Delta is the best US carrier but they don't always have the best fares. Also, sometimes it's worth more to pay a little extra for a flight over a train/bus if you can save a few hours of travel time.

I’m honestly surprised so many people are married to an airline just for points that are nearly useless these days.

At least within the US, Southwest has more non stop flights, but Delta goes out of the way to stop at one of their hubs. I prefer the quickest route! American Airlines/BA, however, has non stop flights to London from our city, which is great!

If it's just myself I'll fly delta, I I'm flying the family it's southwest as bags fly free. Delta used to not charge for luggage. Everything depends on timeline and $

I'm married to two domestic airlines and friends with a few others. I do have a few favorite international airlines too. BUT one of my favorite domestic airlines is starting to branch out to international. I am SO excited for that. I'm becoming friends with some others but I will say there are airlines I will NEVER fly. I won't name them because they might be someone's favorite.

I would say United is the closest one I’m married to, but I usually balance price and convenient flight times when I make my selections.

So true. My husband has been flying to Australia yearly for over twenty years on Qantas. He got a one free ticket and a few discounted. During Covid they were not flying and he found out that United can be at least thousand cheaper. Yes he loves Qantas, but he been using United because he can't justify price difference.

Easy jet flights are ridiculously cheap. Almost cheaper to fly sometimes than take trains while in Europe. Wish we could get around the U.S. at those prices
