This gave me anxiety, my aunt tried ripping hers off and then she was like, this product ruined my nails um. No ma'am, you did. But she wouldn't understand even after i explained it to her 😭 I really don't know how to explain it better, I'll try the 70 layers thing next time but oof I don't have a lot of hope :

Wanna know what’s crazy? Some nail salons in NYC use metro cards. A lot of them have metro cards at their stations and they are licensed professionals

Ouch!!! Also, the nail salons I've been to didn't take great care of my nails. They used an orange stick to help tear them off. I thought damage was just part of getting your nails done. I had absolutely no idea what proper nail care looked like until I watched this channel. 😢 They also drilled/filed my nails so much that my fingers always hurt for 2 to 3 days, sometimes 5 at the most. Doing normal everyday things was extremely painful. I also remember one time when they drilled/filed my nails so much that my fingers were severely burning. I mean REALLY bad and I had to keep soaking my fingers in ice water. I honestly thought that pain or a little pain was part of the process. Eventually, I just stopped going to get my nails done. 😢 I couldn't take the painful process anymore. It wasn't just 1 place around here doing that either. I went to 2 other nail places that weren't even near each other, hoping to have a better experience but it was the same. Not as painful as the 1st place but the tearing of the nails during removal was the same. 😢 I'm really glad that she shows you what a proper experience is SUPPOSED to look like. I have no idea what's going on with the nail places here but they are definitely not taking proper care like this. Also, 2 out of the 3 nail places I'm talking about would make people, including me and my friend, feel bad about the designs or art they wanted on their nails. They have all of the options on display, we would pick what we wanted and they would say things like, "you don't want that, this (pointing to something else that wasn't my taste at all) is what you want", and then sit down to do the design that THEY wanted. Not what the customers wanted. 😢 I can't believe that happened to me and then my friend. We honestly thought that was just something we had to accept.

This one Chinese owned salon in Walmart used to remove my nails with another nail tip. It hurt so bad!! I was 19, and she said sarcastically, “ that hurts you?!!” I said YES! She said you’re so sensitive! Then she would file off all of my nail plate and when I did come back for a fill I had indents. But it was like that to most of the Asian owned salons I went to. I I stopped going because the experience wasn’t worth it having nails. So I started doing my own nails, and NEVER looked back!

i have to 100% support this post , the magic of keeping your mails healthy and not damaged lies in the follow up care and removal of extensions , just like with lashes and hair ) you wouldn’t pluck your lashes, would you?? “ is not a permanent damage but a nail take up to 4-5 months to grow back so be gentle and patient ❤

@Nailcou I felt the poor removals and cringed as i watched them. I do hate it when my parents listen to the news and say that gel is harmful to nails, all nail enhancements cause damage to your natural nail. I have 12 years of knowledge behind me and about 7 years of experience applying nails now. I'm disabled and wanted to learn as much knowledge about the natural nail and how to hekp maintain a healthy nail whilst working on them. I may take my time on my prep work and removal, but i always do it with the health of the natural nail in mind. I love that nailcou informs everyone what really works and what doesn't, as well as what causes damage and what won't. Thank you for your channel, @nailcou your definitely a favourite of mine ❤️ xxx

Again, I really f’d my nail plates up by scraping gel off when it wasn’t ready (first time). I don’t think it’s permanent because acetone or something doesn’t hurt me but I was so panicked and now still a bit that I don’t even dare to put press on nails or nail polish on and I absolutely despise bare nails and I hate how short they are now too but I’m really trying to take care of them now so I can use products again and start learning how to do gel properly

I use Jello Jello Peel Off Base Gel so that popping off my nails wont damage them but even this method requires a little patience for the remover to work.

Why not do literally anything else first before trying this?! Sure Soaking or wrapping nails takes a while or shaving off layers... but it's loads better than this 😱 I have accidentally had gel ripped off my nail before after being caught on something and it is not nice 😢 My natural nail has bumps and pieces ripped off and i think it took months to grow back. I'd rather soak or steam or anything before trying th

It happened to me at work by accident today on one nail and I’m so sad. It definitely damaged the top layer and ripped the tip off. 😢I do not recommend!

When I go in the shop they always use a unused tip to remove them. Nail salons here in my part of GA doesn't provide soak off anymore.

I was in a nail salon in south carolina and they used another nail to pry my set off. Each time i told them it hurt, they would have my nails soak for 10 minutes and try prying it off with a nail again. The worst kind of nail pain ive ever experienced. I no longer go to nail salons. That kind of pain would stop anyone
