Most trains in America haul freight. But Amtrack is our main passenger rail service. Amtrak serves up to 32 million riders per year. Which is not a lot because Americans are always in a rush to get to their destination and prefer to drive their own cars or fly. If you have the time, railriding is GREAT and gives you an opportunity to spend days viewing the remote countryside of mountains, plains, rivers, and canyons. A week spent riding the American rails makes an unforgettable vacation. 😎👍🇺🇸
