Serj and Rainn are two folks I could listen to way way more. Searching, and seeking to be better through bettering oneself, becoming aware of your true self, using all tools available to do that...the sacred, the magic...I dig that.
I am very happily surprised that folks like these two who are very popular seem to get it.
Serj is very articulate, and these two have given me much to think about. Thanks.

The amount of ignorance in these xomments is exactly what Serj is talking about. Id be willing to bet, the "shut up and sing" crowd in here are always thise who got upset ehen the found out Rage Against the Machine was raging against politics and the powerful.
Sad state of affairs when you have two intelligent people talking about whats wrong in the world, and you all continue to show your asses

So true! We make music that points to issues in society, where the potential future of humanity seems to be going as a whole but it just feels like nobody cares.
Everyone’s too busy chasing their 15 minutes, trying to jump on the next trend, lacking purpose or intention.
Any wonder people are depressed, there’s no meaning to what’s going on around us, just greed and narcissism.
I’ve come to terms with the fact that it’s a hobby and we’ll probably not make money doing it but I love writing and composing and general jamming with my friends, it and it doesn’t feel like wasted time so it isn’t.

It’s true and sad. When I heard friends say I don’t like System of the Down anymore because they’re to political now… wait isn’t that the point of their music? We 90’s kids think very highly of ourselves but before us people actually fought for what was wrong with the world and did something about it. I loved the 90’s but I noticed my generation take it for granted.

People see music as a product not as an art. A lot of comments are examples of exactly what hes talking about. But may you hopefuls find hopefuls. And the angry people find peace. Because their anger comes from their own personal story we will never understand and i only hope everyone has a better tomorrow
