Yes this is all true, but what happens when you live in an area where you have no choice. A person in my area could be having a breakdown and try to reach out for help but has to be on a waiting list for a month or two to be considered. Than after that wait another month for the actual appointment. See many of the therapist though they true want to help also want to pay off there student loans. So they don’t apply for areas where the cost of living is lower, because they won’t get paid enough. The other thing is if they do start in those areas, they soon leave once they get their “experience” for a bigger area. Yes this is true. I’ve had 4 therapist leave the area just for this reason. Also it took us 6 months to find one for my daughter because child therapist are even more rare, and that poor lady is great but so busy we’re lucky if we can squeeze in once every three weeks. Love your work Kati. The choices are not out there like you talk about, not at least in rural and farming areas. Please be well and God bless you and your community.

I need to find a therapist who has experience treating Dissociative Identity Disorder. It's proving very difficult. I don't want to give up and accept the idea that we can't find treatment in my state. I've found no one using the ISSTD database unfortunately. I worry so much that even if we found someone who has worked with DID clients before that they wouldn't take our insurance (we are on SSDI, so insurance is Medicaid and Medicare under an umbrella of United Health), that we just arnt meant to find external healing help. We process our memories in our head sometimes together but I feel it might need said that having an external person assisting with that is different. Please help us if you can. Thank you
