It's like a...stumbling bass line. Great feel. Very bass.

Hey Adam, I'm an Ethiopian and I've been watching your channel for about two years now, it's really cool to see you do this. Thank you

I always found Ethiopian rhythm tricky. Sometimes 12/8 or something even more confusing lol. I’d love to see a video on it.

i love how this specific track just does not align with western pop traditions such that it sounds so different, but the rhythm and flow is still immediately discernible. head bobbing to this music is just another way to show how music as a whole is an instinctively human experience.

East African music is so fun to listen to (and play), you should give Sudani music a try too!

My 12 year old son and I have vastly different taste in music, but the one thing we can sits in the truck and listen to together is African music. It’s the only style of music we both love. It’s a wonderful way to bond with him.

Ethiopian music of the '70s and '80s was funky as all get out.

It’s fascinating the feel you get from something that starts and stops so abruptly. Like others said, kind of a stumbling feel. I really like this!!

A while back, I did a study on Ethiopian Jazz. It’s so interesting how they completely stuck to their roots. The rhythms and scales used in older Ethiopian Jazz are still present today, and proliferate into many areas of modern Ethiopian music too.

Dem African timings. I had great fun playing bass for King Bozie, my Ghanaian mate's band "The Utopians" back in the day ...
