Fix your lower back pain by increasing spine stability! This exercise is one of the best ways you can do it. One of the main causes of lower back pain that I see as a physical therapist is a lack of stability in the lower back. This lack of stability is the result of a lack of strength; therefore one of the best ways to eliminate lower back pain is to strengthen the muscles that support it!

Try this - can you hold this "bird dog" position without wobbling? How easy is it for you? If you experience uncontrollable "wobble" or if it's very difficult for you to get into this position, that could be a sign that your could benefit from some strengthening exercises.

I can attest to the effectiveness of this exercise to stop back pain. After I had done it daily for about 2 weeks I noticed a difference in my lower back and I have kept it up now for the last 12 months. My back pain is almost completely gone now.
