Reason why people are buying $400,000 houses is because some people can either do 3 1/2% down or only 20% down of that money. They don’t have $400,000 altogether so this wouldn’t really work.

Are you really trying to say that someone who buys a house to rent it out isn’t charging the mortgage and is actually charging less a month than they have to pay? Don’t get me wrong renting an apartment is cheaper renting a home is not. No body with a net worth over 200 million should be able to rent out single family homes. That’s what drives the market through the roof and makes buying a home so expensive, because you’ve got rich people with millions of dollars buying all the homes and renting them for more than they’re worth and the only other option is to either get a new build or buy a piece of shit and fix it up

In Michigan rent is twice what a mortgage costs. I think the whole Midwest is like that. Owning is freedom out here.
