Fun fact: in the last stage of hypothermia, just before death, endorphins are released and people feels just sleepy. It's the body that says "well I can't do anything anymore for you buddy, all i can do is making you feel ok for the last time"

I'm a window cleaner in England and spend my whole life wet and fucking cold. It's shit. The only enderfins present are when I get paid. Being cold is shit.

I freaking love ice bathing and enjoy both the freezing during the cold und the "high" afterwards, so it's win win for me

I swear on cold water, especially against depression, but I love your rants about it so much 😂

See guys, just because you have a PhD doesn’t meant you know everything. He did mean enderfins. It’s just that the enderfins can only be found underwater. When you collect enough you can use them with the other ender items to reach the dragon.

Doing heat treatments and cold treatments works wonders for the nerve pain in my lower back. Love me a cold plunge.

All True Dr. Mike. I believe it has more to do with building mental resilience over anything else.

I got an ice bath and a chiller from Ice Oasis and while I don’t really see a measurable improvement in my fitness or anything like that, I have noticed it’s helped reduce my stress, so I’ll take it.

For me it helped alot with my herniated disc a few years ago. I could walk an hour or 2 without pain and lifts the mood. And it makes you feel less cold during the winter

Years before cold plunges were popular, my water heater broke. I needed to take a shower before work, so I struggled through an ice-cold shower. For the rest of that day I felt way more calm and aware. I think it's making myself do a thing that sucks, and then overcoming it by myself, helps prevent my anxiety. It's like the benefits of lifting heavy, but to a greater degree (in my experience only, your mileage may vary.)

I played football at the pro level for 9 years. I wouldn't of made it if it wasn't for the cold tub. For me it felt like I had a new body every time I came out the tub. But he's right it definitely isn't for everyone. It is an acquired process

I think there is a lot of benefit to it. It's worth looking into neurochemistry and how pain and pleasure are cyclical. Also on a cold day after doing a cold plunge/shower your body will try to warm itself and when you go outside you'll be a lot less freezing.

It does increase brown fat production and can double baseline dopamine for up to 6 hours.
