Support the people of Lahaina, and staying on guard to chase away land developers. Keep Hawaiian lands in Hawaiian hands

I lived on Maui in the 70's and at one time during that period I resided, worked (Kimos), surfed and went to High school at LahainaLuna and to see this happen is just tragic! I hope the town stays in the hands of the people who it belongs to!!!

My niece lost her uncle in the fire, he was wheelchair bound and trapped in his house they tried to rescue him but, the fire and wind was too intense… she also has 25 family members who are now homeless, a total of 10 of their homes were destroyed…. This is so heartbreaking and beyond devastating… please keep all of Maui in your prayers 💔🤙

Lahaina is a beautiful ocean town with lots of history. So many people lost their homes and jobs. This is so sad.

I’ve been to Lahaina many times through my life and this is devastating! The Banyan Tree which is a lovely tree that is surrounded with history is now burnt to the ground, so many people run their own shops and small businesses in Lahaina. Many people live in this town. Now many of them don’t have jobs, homes, or anything at all. It’s all gone. This was a place we’re many tourists came and how many people got there source of income. I encourage everyone to help as much as you can

Such a tragedy. These are strong people who will come together and restore their beloved Island. I would recommend when all is done you all in addition to maintaining grass and ignitable material running some pipe systems with extreme high pressure pumps from the ocean in most vulnerable areas with high pressure spinning nozzles on 50 foot towers to dows any outbreaks in the future. Salt water is full of minerals and will set in the soil and fresh rains will wash it into the top soil

That wind was extremely brutally strong and was the main culprit and fuel for those flames. High winds, low humidity and extremely dry conditions made lahaina the perfect recipe for a wildfire. Love goes out to all affected people and property of this unbelievably devastating event. 🙏🏼
