I think science, by definition, seeks to explain things that already exist, not to validate them.
Science tries to explain what exists on earth, that's why it cannot explain what is not on earth. But that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Sure, just because we can't measure or observe something doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
But things that don't exist are also difficult to measure or observe.
