I grew up in a hoarder house where my mom would sometimes hit me. On top of that I had undiagnosed adhd and school was a struggle. I developed an eating disorder to feel that I at least had control over something.. The eating disorder kept resurfacing until I finally adressed my trauma

Thank you so much for clarifying this. I started with anorexia/orthorexia at 16 and over the years itās morphed into binging episodes; Iām now 39 and still struggle. Iāve never purged. But yes, itās all about controlling something in our life to deal with our trauma.
