I have five lemon trees growing from seeds I planted in a little pot and left out in winter. I bring the plants in in fall. NW PA, zone 5. Snowbelt here.

Thanks, I threw two lemon seeds in a pot earlier this year and mis marked them as blueberries. Had no clue on what to do to take care of them in IN. I do now.

Your plants look great Luke. Thank you for the information. Different climates may require more frequent watering. I live in Georgia and with our climate I water mine every other day. I tried watering less and the leaves were curling. They are happy with my current schedule and have lemons growing.

So do you bring them inside in the winter? Or keep them in a greenhouse?

I live in central New York and have grown citrus for over 10 years with decent success. I bought a small citrus from a store 2 years ago and that plant gave all the rest of my citrus SCALE; and ive now lost all of my trees except three of them. One has a lot of scale on it and the others I had to get rid of because no matter how much i wiped it off NOTHING would kill it. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE what can I do to kill the scale?!

Thanks Luke! Always learn something new. I have a key lime I started from seed on yr 3. Been feeling guilty I haven't up potted will keep it where it is. And the color of the new leaves had me concerned. Would love an update on what you do over the winter.

Can I assume you bring them inside for the winter? And if so are you adding supplemental lighting?
