A while back a neighbors pit bull got out of his house and attacked my daughter… my dog ( pit bull mastiff boxer mix) jumped my fence and got the dog by his neck shook him almost to death dog ran back home then came back up to my yard again and ran at my little girl AGAIN but my neighbor ( GSP officer ) was out there with us and he put 2 in the dog and dropped him right there… the owner got a whole list of charges…

My town in terrible with dogs on the loose.
Not exaggerating, I complained on 1 neighbor for 15 years! The dog catcher wouldn't do shit.
Finally after living thru 2 generations of this, I called the mayor.
Somehow, problem rectified, but not 100%.
Still issues, but not 100% of the time.

It does not matter the dog breed what matters is how you confront it if any time you find yourself in a situation like this you do not run away from the dog you get the dog's attention and when it charges at you you set yourself so that you can make contact with the dog on your terms not on his terms and then you stand a better chance of coming out of it less harmed but do what you do it's up to you
