Would the effect still work if the painted object was sealed? If so, then paint a chair/bench/(toilet seat, lol), or a flower pot that gets a lot of sun - something that gets warm basically by itself, without the use of a blow dryer.
You could paint a flower pot in a matching purple colour and just make some pattern with the colour changing paint - the pattern would magically appear in the sun!

This needs to be used for background flora. Can you imagine having a big painting hung up and different parts of it start changing colour depending on the temperature of the room or where the sun is hitting it. That would be mesmerising!! 😍

i think it would be cool to do a painting with a back ground of the same color (if i could get something to match this color and texture) and then when you heat it, it reveals the hidden painting!

I wish they had different color variations. I have so many ideas for landscapes changing with the seasons

use a color that's between the two shades that can be made with that one, and paint big shadows with it. after it's dry, you can add white details (eg. someone's eyes) and then hair dry it, so the color changing paint can be seen as a light source or as shade. (might be a good idea to thin it out a bit so it'll be a nice fade)
