I've had 3 kids. I've had a lot of sleepless nights protecting that soft spot in their skulls. It didn't occur to shape them, opportunity missed, I suppose.

I have narrow hips so my daughter had a bit of an oval head just after her birth. My husband would gently rub her head several times a day and softly tell her he would not let the other babies call her a cone head.

Everytime i hear about this, i always wonder what this does to the brain, and no one ever talks about it... cuz it looks like its giving more room, which could make you develop a bigger brain, or just make you more prone to being knocked out, and its always weird to me that its trying to look like how we picture aliens...

The practice isn't any worse than then having a child's gender reassigned, but both are non reversible and just as creepy.

Horrific, gives me shivers of digust, how horrendously unnatural this is. Like some other "procedures" nowadays, right from the same category...

This still happening today, and a lot of people don't even realise that they are doing it to their own children, with the teaching that laying an infant on their back can help stop sudden infant death syndrome, it is creating a flat area on the back of the head.

To prevent cot deaths, babies should be laying on their back. In china, mothers started to try and flatten the back of their heads, so they'd lay on their back and not be able to roll as easily. Big reason so many Chinese have square heads

Oh, my babies did their own cranial deformation. My youngest had the back of his head flattened due to his favourite sleeping position, my oldest flattened his right side & my middle son flattened the area around his ears. They looked wierd. But it sorted itself out as their bones got harder as they grew.

Explains why some people have a flat head at the back. It just means that they were often left lying down in their cradles rather than being embraced by a father or mother.
