hi there pickuplimes. i followed your channel years ago and forgot about it. iām having a really awful time right now, iāve just gone through a breakup, lost both my jobs, relapsed in my addictions and eating disorder, had someone kill my dog, lost my friend, and am just ultimately incredibly depressed and struggling. a video of yours popped up for the first time in years the other day. the calming vibes of your videos in your beautiful kitchen with beautiful foods actually gave me this whole flood of motivation to cook, clean, take care of myself and my plants, and put some love back into myself. maybe you just see it as your job to make cooking and recipe videos, but for me, i see care, thoughtfulness, colour, inspiration, motivation, calm, and peace. back to my roots of what i love. thank you for reminding me of lifeās simple pleasures and saving me from my nightmare

I feel many people have no patience with preparation of almost anything. So many things are made easier now... precut veggies, etc.... but taking a few moments to do it yourself can feel really good. It ads to the thought that you are taking a bit of time to nurture yourself. With all the crazy in the world... having the ability to simply take time to cut vegetable can be a lovely moment of peace.

I really enjoy chopping veggies in my meal prep. There is something satisfying about getting out my clean cutting board, large knife, a bowl for the cut veggies, and a small bowl for scraps. I set up my phone to play a podcast or YouTube video essay and enjoy my quiet time alone in the kitchen ā¤

Have you ever met a person who is so strong because they are so gentle? She has a way of changing your perspective by inviting you to do something instead of demanding. And I certainly donāt mean to idolize her, but Iāve watched many of her videos and she has strong opinions and convictions but tells you about it in such a sweet and soft voice - you canāt but help to figuratively lean in and pay attention. I know, I know, sheās technically only speaking about cutting vegetables but of course sheās giving a mini life lesson. Knife skills and sage advice in under a minute is pretty good.
