Stop looking to anything other than your immediate reality and what comes up. The healing a human needs is presence. Unadulterated presence or adulterated presence, just know the difference because thats what this is about. Know the difference between thought and emotions and Yourself. Through the experience of self inquiry/contemplation you can tell a thought apart from an emotion. The mediator is YOU. That sense or snapshot that may occur through this exercise of self inquiy is a recognition of a deeper sense of yourself you are not accustomed too. You will know it when it occurs. The way that recognition stays with you is through memory. That knowledge points your attention right back at yourself and until you can recognize the difference between thought and emotion and whats enabling the thoughts and emotions keep directing attention towards your own awareness. By doing this you intentionally starve out the extraneous thought by directing attention on one thought I Am. Or as we understand it as a state where you are present being aware of your presence. Focusing on that one thought will aid in the recognition Im talking about. That recognition is You only mire present than you have ever recognized before and in this way you understand what going inward means. All the Sages point to this through their own unique cultural descriptors but it's the same world over. Later Gator.

This expresses the core idea described by the Poet Robert Frost "The best way out is through". I like the clarity of this healing dynamic.
