“Progenitor” is the incorrect word here. The TZO would be the progenitor to the binary system, not the other way around, unless you mean that this system will become a TZO, but context suggests otherwise.

It's like a Quasi Star except a lot smaller and won't last as long. I'd imagine there would be gigantic torus like structures within the star as the neutron star within funnels plasma along its magnetic field lines
