💰 In fact, Etsy is one of the MOST AFFORDABLE places you can sell your handmade goods online - especially for what you get in return.

I see so many people complain that Etsy fees are too high - when in reality they are not charging what their work is worth.

❌️ Don't make this mistake.

You need to do the calculations to make sure you are pricing not only to cover your overheads, your materials costs, and your time, but also so that you are getting PROFIT from your sales.

Show me a business that's not making a profit and I'll show you a business that will not exist in 5 years time.

If you're not sure how to price properly I have a video on my YouTube channel that breaks down the EXACT formula that you should use to price your products.

👉🏻 Watch it right here:    • A Basic Pricing Formula for Etsy & Ha...

The reason why the fees are too high is because they're robbing from the hand that feeds them. Etsy's sellers are using their profits to acquire new inventory.

That's a good point. I keep hearing people whinge about Etsy fees and usually realize they are selling their work for 3x the cost of yarn (this still happens everywhere! And they get mad when you say they are too cheap)

My solution was to just get my own website and keep selling at fair prices 🙈 was finding that it was just as expensive per month to keep my shop going so why not

Well that is dumb because the more I raise the price, greedy etsy takes more of my money

People don't value their product and list their items with a really low price you can't even found in a real marketplace so the customers receives low quality products. Etsy should set a strict policy for those shops

No because Etsy takes PERCENTAGES. So the higher your prices, the larger the chunk they take out.

I love offsite ads gives you get more exposure and sales...yes it's 15% but as long as you price your products right you can make a profit..made $15 after shipping, product production fees, and etsy ad fees..if you're not making a profit and you think it's the price you might be wrong..customers will buy as long as there interested in the product..

I’m afraid if I charge too much nobody will buy from me? There’s a lot of competition in what I’m selling.

Let's say you are doing 10k a year on digital items (ex no costs, except Etsy fees) how do you pay taxes ? Like Etsy prepares some kind tax form for you or it automatically pay taxes by holding that amount from your deposit?? Thanks

I actually left Etsy and never bought from it again after the price explosions during the last years. I'm sure I'm not the only one. Your right to increase prices all you want. But don't expect customers to pay that price. Good luck.

I have a question I’m flat broke, how can I start listing items on Etsy when they charge a .20 fee? Or is it impossible to start with zero money

I sold a Mug for $27.95 AUD and Etsy Fees were $17.95 even though i had already previously paid the listing fee s I was still charged listing fee s the $10 I had left was the Cost of Postage so I literally made $0 I do not know how or why I only ended up with $10 out of the $27.95 Is this normal fee charging ? do they take 80 per cent of your sale ? If so how does People make money on this Platform and Australia is different there not as many shoppers on Etsy Australia I cannot seem to sell anything I got great SEO get plenty of visitors and cant drop prices or I would always be - profit like I am now so i deactivated my listings.
