In therapy I use a combination of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Systems Theory, positive psychology, and a bio-psycho-social approach to treating mental illness and other challenges we all face in life. The ideas from my videos are frequently adapted from multiple sources. Many of them come from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, especially the work of Steven Hayes, Jason Luoma, and Russ Harris. The sections on stress and the mind-body connection derive from the work of Stephen Porges (the Polyvagal theory), Peter Levine (Somatic Experiencing) Francine Shapiro (EMDR), and Bessel Van Der Kolk. I also rely heavily on the work of the Arbinger institute for my overall understanding of our ability to choose our life's direction.
And deeper than all of that, the Gospel of Jesus Christ orients my personal worldview and sense of security, peace, hope, and love www.churchofjesuschrist.org/comeuntochrist/believe

As someone who's seen far too much alcoholism, drug addiction, child abuse, domestic violence, and so many toxic behaviors, I would say this is spot on. He's talking about real, deep change, and he's right, IMO. Thank you for sharing this, Emma. 💛 *I'm not a mental health professional. I've just experienced and witnessed a lot of trauma and neglect in my life. I am currently pursuing a degree in social work.

If you receive enough of something that motivates and encourages a change. If you don't change that something will repeat itself until you act on the resolve of it and change. Imhe

That is good but sounds like reasons rather than seasons.

Unfortunately these four seasons have to overlap for sometime so people can change, which is not gonna happen often in most people’s lives

I’d like to add at least 10 more to this! We have a society of everything now now now so- this is like too simply put for the now. Cracks me up at the frustration of this video. No one wants to change?! Haha it’s just a “short” folks, lighten up.

As a real therapist I can tell you that most people really don't want to change. Their super power lies in having something to complain about, having someone to complain to, having someone to feel sorry for them, and believing that who they are pointing to is to blame for their problems. I've asked many complainers "if I completely eliminated that which bothers you, what would you talk about with your neighbors your friends and your family? When there is nothing to complain about, what then would you brag about?" They respond with a look like a deer caught in the headlights. They have no clue what to talk about.

Not sure what this vid is about but it seems a bit like a pyramid scam telling people they can make money when I have looked on their website. I really like therapy in a nutshell it’s been so helpful. But this vid isn’t. It’s meaningless.
