I mean India's economy is big and yeah I agree about the report. But comparing the downfall of a company to a country's economic rise is stupid. I mean china had Hna group and even usa(Madoff) had some of the biggest corporate fraud. But despite these corporate frauds the economy of their countries is still on. I believe corporate fraud is part of the process of a country transition from developing into developed country. I think adani has to change the narrative or the govt has to ensure investors that market and financial regulators are impartial.

Even after the free fall of adani share, Indian market is still strong and growing. Fall of one company due to certain allegations don't mean one can question whole economy.

The implication for the Indian economy depends on what the Modi government does next.
If the government refuses to investigate or prosecutor for political purposes, then I imagine a big sell-off as investors will see Indian stocks as having too much risk. This would be detrimental to the Indian economy as India's young industries are desperate for foreign investment. If India does some reforms like America did after the Enron fraud, then it should ensure investors that their money is safe.

I accept that adani enterprises has some problems behind and scene. But comparing it with a country like India and its group is a serious selective perception. Adani is just a company in a country were there are millions of people who does real and valuable business. With this comparison shall I say Bernie Madoff represents american financial market.

Adani group barely employs 23k people even if they go bust only major setback for Indian economy will be the money lost by his investors (including the government) which is still huge but not enough to cripple the Indian economy. His company was rightly called a bubble.

When Adani said that allegations against the company isn't only on it but against growing India economy. You all just proved it by comparing the downtrend of a single enterprise to a whole country's economy. Maybe they are the only large corporation in ths tiny economy of India.

You should not compare his fall to the Indian economy... His net worth is down 60-70% since the report but Indian market as a whole is up 2-3%.
Even a kid with little knowledge could have told that his stocks were overvalued af... So, it was bound to fall some years down the lane...

Funny thing is credit suissee is now going under as has SVB. While Adani whose been doing legitimate business is still the same. Surprising how American firm couldnโt find a shortcoming in a 216 billion scam at home but could find dirt on a company 1000s of miles away
