When people in the past got high to "connect with their ancestors", they had no idea just how far back their ancestry they were connecting

How is the new job? Odd. How so? I'm a worm stoner. It's really hard rolling joints that small.

Here's another fun fact: T. rex coexisted with a very close relative of cannabis. Now, from the fossils alone we can't say for sure wether it had the same "properties" as modern weed. BUT if it was the case and, let's say, a field of it were to burn, it would make every prehistoric animal in the area high as a kite. And probably give it the munchies as seen here. Which sounds particularly dangerous (and amusing) when talking about large dinosaurs.

Now I’m just picturing a group of worms passing a blunt around as a scientist stands in the background holding a clipboard furiously scribbling notes.

Makes sense that "Eat when hungry" would be one of the first things to evolve...

It works this way on snakes, too. I know someone who got a particularly picky ball python who was in a hunger strike to finally eat by hotboxing her tank.

@devilsadvocate.

So the nematodes from Spongebob were having a plant induced undersea adventure and thus had a case of the munchies.
