Bathtub groundsheets with a tarptent is the ideal ultralight for any condition. Doesn't matter if it pours it down as the groundsheet won't flood.

Went back country camping in Denali National Park (7 nights) with a cheap Ozark Trail tent with a bathtub floor. 24.99 Walmart purchase. Was fabulous.
(Wouldn't recommend after your 1st trip)

Sorry, but I didn't know there where tents without a bathtub floor. Even my fathers "backpack" tent that's over 50 years old has a bathtub floor.

Even had a “bathtub” in my 1970’s Eureka Timberline tent I hauled around for years and still own. Damn good tent for the price and weight
