It breaks my heart when I listen to my peers saying to themselves that they are "dumb", or "complete failure", or " I can never do things right ofcourse". I always tell them to reach out for help, ask questions, don't ever think that any question asked is a dumb question. It definitley starts with nurture versus nature and how they were brought up or how their family or parents treat them to make them feel so insecure about themselves at work. I see everyone tries to put the "I am very confident and I know what I am doing, don't question it." , but this is were it goes all wrong. Whoever reads this, don't keep putting that confidence mask as "I know what I am doing" when in reality you do not. At least, put that confidence mask to practice to ask questions even when you feel nervous or are suffering from spotlight effect. Be confident to ask questions. If someone ever questions why you are asking, then you tell them that you want to learn and that they have no right to critize you for asking. We all need to help eachother, make eachother feel welcomed , create a safe work culture to encourage people to ask questions and share knowledge.
