I feel summer depression might happen because you're off of school and maybe work as well for a while. Things are slower in the summer for most people including myself. You have more time to think and life is expensive so you're probably not out here traveling and enjoying life all the time.
Everyone's experience is different but summer is just a weird time.

Im just now realizing that I have this after I talked it through with my personal therapist. I've known for a long time about my seasonal depression/ mood alterations correlated to fall/winter but never gave any thought that summer/ spring could have their own effects on my mood. Mostly I don't do well when there's no sun, which in summer it's on & off. If it's 90+ degrees out or sunny and im depressed but I wish to be productive it causes lots of anxiety. Where in winter it's easy for me to accept my on & off days.
