If this happens in your sleep, don’t open your eyes! If you have ever woken up in the middle of the night, completely unable to move or speak, as if you're trapped in your own body, you have experienced what’s called sleep paralysis. This scary phenomenon happens when your mind wakes up before your body does, leaving you temporarily paralyzed and unable to communicate.

It's a completely normal and harmless experience that happens to many people, but it can be quite frightening if you don't know what's happening. During an episode of sleep paralysis, you may also experience vivid hallucinations, making it feel like you're living in a nightmare. People often report sensing a presence in the room, feeling pressure on their chest or body, and seeing an intruder or threatening creature.

To make terrifying experience less scary, keep your eyes closed and focus on your breathing. This helps you remain calm and eventually break free from the episode. So, remember, if you get sleep paralysis, don’t open your eyes!

Yes I have in fact I’ve woken up without being on top of my chest they call it a succubus in the old times / medieval times I thought it was an actual being but I later found out it’s a psychological condition and you can’t move and you’re scared to death and takes a while for you to maybe a minute to slowly phase out of it and it’s very very frightening

I've only experienced this ooooh .....maybe three times in my life... I'm so sure I opened my eyes briefly, but it felt like trying to 'push' a heavy weight off. They also happened during real bad vulnerable/stressful moments 😐

But why does the brain starts processing the hallucination while in that 'mode'? Guess science hasn't reached that depth! 🤔

I've had it before, a lot. Every time I open my eyes, I always see something scary. Then once I tried to keep my eyes closed, suddenly there was a mocking laugh he said "I know you're only pretending to sleep"

This is true. You can put your body to sleep while going for a long drive. My cousin told me he did it so I tried it and it works, you can feel your body is asleep.
