Excellent recipe. Today I ate basmati cooked like that and enjoyed basmati for the first time in my life. It was moist, light, fluffy, fragrant, tasty. Delicious! Thank you, Maneet!

That’s only true for basmati rice. Jasmine and other long grain it’s 1.5 cups of water. And short grain is 1 to 1 water

In the name of the clip it says “Basmati” rice. Different types of rice require different ratios but she is showing Basmati specifically.

Thank you. I never knew WHEN to stop cooking. The water and rice to be level IS the key!

I cover the rice with water and add about an inch of water to over the top. Add a bit of coconut oil

As per ayurveda It’s always good to soak rice for 15-20 minutes before cooking. It saves the cooking time also. Plus to add flavour we can add 2 cloves, 2-4 whole black pepper a bay leaf. Try it, you’d like it🩷

It depends on the kind of rice you have. Some rice require more water and some less. In order to know that you need to test. There is no one one size fits all rule for rice.

I used BASMATI rice, a ratio of one cup of rice & one cup of water. Of course, I wash the rice until the water is clear , no added salt or butter then put it in the " rice cooker".

Not always true that 1 cup of rice needs 2 cups of water. It may need less than that. By the way, your rice cooked beautifully

I make it like differently: 1) put olive oil in the pot, add a teaspoon of fresh minced garlic, salt, rice, stir until garlic is light gold. Add boiling water and let it cook.
