This is true. I had 7 huge trees taken down so they wouldn’t fall on the house and break the walkways with the roots (old house owned it forever) and they charged almost $10,000 and then wouldn’t do the stumps. Unreal.

Reminds me of when two tall Georgia pines fell during an ice storm, damaging a portion of our roof while my husband was working out of state. I got the roof repaired, and the insurance company eagerly cut me a check before i could even think about tree removal. I complained about it to my friends that Sunday, and the very next day one of the deacons showed up with a chain saw to cut em up and another came a couple hours later to load the pieces in his truck to use in his forge. That's what a Christian church family looks like! 😇❤️

A: Can't do things yourself
B: Can't explain what you want done and assume that every contractor will just take care of everything for you.(these people really exist and expect the window installer to fix their busted up old crappy siding that is beside the new window, even though they refused to have the siding replaced in the first place.)

I had TWO stumps in my patio, so, I said, Nope, I am not gonna call someone to come and get this out. I went to home depot, got me an axe, and cut around the roots, and got both of those out myself. Its easy to do if you have the patience and strength.

Yup, all true. And my damned tree is trying to grow back, and it's under the power line, so I don't want it there, and keep having to cut the thing back. This because after the three of them there are still roots above ground, and that damned oak is tenacious, I wanna tell ya. Time to drive in some copper pipe I guess, to kill the roots. Where in the world do I find the copper pipe guy??? Just kidding, I will do tht myself. I would have done the trees, too, but I'm getting too old for that kind of crap. I rarely crawl under cars anymore, either, but I still do, because if you think tree guys are expensive ...

In the long run you had a tree that had age and history with the land and your house. That tree was to old and BIG so you had the BIG old tree cut down and replaced by a new little skinny new young tree.

Ever thought of calling the landscapers to cut the tree?? Was I the only man that did it all and got paid for all of it?? I'd feed the dog and walk the cat if the price is right
