Tom preaches the hard truth. As much as life does get in the way and getting in a position where you have the ability to make change can be very difficult and look different for many people, ultimately it is up to you/us to move our lives move in the direction we want it to lead.
Some people have very difficult obstacles to overcome and things to work around, but we can all do better.
Being able to hyperfocus the older I’ve gotten has become more difficult as life accumulates more and more responsibilities, but purging what doesn’t matter from what does is even more necessary as our lives progress.
Keep fighting legends!

Well said.
Don't be afraid to make phone calls, write letters, arrange appointments to go after your dram and turn it into reality.
If you believe in what you're doing and work hard you can make it happen. Find the right people. Don't listen to people that say it's bad idea if you believe it will happen.

“You are to blame entirely for the state of your life,” is harmful messaging.
The idea of complete personal blame for all of life’s hardships does not allow for actual recognition and acceptance of “the unknown.” By understanding that some forces leading you to this moment may be outside of your control, you are better able to reckon with the personal responsibility of healing and start a journey of growth.
The message in this video would be more beneficial stated as: “The state of your life is a combination of personal decisions, unplanned events, and influences that may be our of your hands. If the culmination of these forces have caused issues for you in life, the responsibility to heal and grow is still your own.
Basically, there’s a key difference between recognizing the power of personal responsibility and agency of growth, and blaming yourself for everything that’s gone wrong in your life in order to change your situation.
