In therapy I use a combination of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Systems Theory, positive psychology, and a bio-psycho-social approach to treating mental illness and other challenges we all face in life. The ideas from my videos are frequently adapted from multiple sources. Many of them come from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, especially the work of Steven Hayes, Jason Luoma, and Russ Harris. The sections on stress and the mind-body connection derive from the work of Stephen Porges (the Polyvagal theory), Peter Levine (Somatic Experiencing) Francine Shapiro (EMDR), and Bessel Van Der Kolk. I also rely heavily on the work of the Arbinger institute for my overall understanding of our ability to choose our life's direction.
And deeper than all of that, the Gospel of Jesus Christ orients my personal worldview and sense of security, peace, hope, and love www.churchofjesuschrist.org/comeuntochrist/believe

I felt the change but the remaining anxiety was related to me not being able to tap fast enough.

Doctor, you are a life saver. This from a combat veteran. I am 60 years old, and I have been noticing that my anxiety levels are more, and more debilitating than when I was younger. I started watching your videos, and I wanted to thank you for for the positive influence in my life.

This has been something I've gone back to time and time again. It's not the best for full on panic attacks, but it always helps with mild to moderate anxiety for me!

I used EFT earlier today to diffuse anxiety about a doctor visit. Usually I go and my BP is high and I get threatened with meds even though at home it's sometimes low. My resting heart rate is in the50s so meds scare me. Today I tapped on "I am in control, I am not required to go on meds, it's my decision" and my BP was 120/75 and no medication talk. 😊

Wow thank you. I was googling ways to stop an anxiety attack and you calmed me from an 8 to a 4. Thank you so much I mean it.

I was at a 4 -- the tapping caused an emotional*release* of sorts that made me tear up...after that passed and a few deep breaths I am at about a 2 ♥️🙏

I'm not feeling anxiety. But I'm sure it works. I thought I was having a heart attack, couldn't breathe ...wondering if I should call 911. I prayed didn't want to leave my dog. felt God tell me to go brush my hair and wash my face, brush my teeth. I did it thinking I would choke. It worked And I was able to breath normal, stopped panicking immediately. I did this for my self when my car was getting too expensive to repair. She is amazing listen to her..

I recently rediscovered EFT tapping and it's been helping me so much with anxiety, stress, and overwhelm. I love that, even though this is a slightly different technique that I use, it helps to bring awareness back to the body, slow things down a bit and is very grounding. Thanks for sharing this!

It worked. I’m Guessing because I was so focused on 7 and where to tap that my anxiety went from 9 to about 3. Thank you for this technique.

I was made aware of this technique a year ago. As an open-minded (yet healthily skeptical nerd), I measured my blood pressure before and after practicing EFT. My blood pressure dropped by 20 points (or more) in mere minutes! I have repeated this process many times, and the results are consistent. Part of the shtick on how this works, I believe, is helping to ease one back into a 'present' state, getting out of my head where stressful thoughts live. Very informative, as are all of your videos Emma. Thanks, and blessings to you!
